Molecular Genetics: CMC EQAS
The purpose of the programme is to provide external quality assessment, as a part of the overall quality assurance, for tests detecting genetic defects in the field of haemostasis and hemoglobin disorders. The aim of the programme is to promote high standards of performance and practice, by provision of independent, objective and impartial information. The program is being initiated in three divisions:
- Thalassaemia
- Haemophilia A and haemophilia B
- Thrombophilia, covering screening for Factor V Leiden G1691A, Prothrombin G20210A mutations and MTHFR C677T
The programme is open to all clinical laboratories doing these tests.
