CMCEQAS - International Program
One of the major limiting factors that prevent many laboratories in developing countries from participating in proficiency testing programs is the cost associated with it. CMCEQAS is very cognizant of this issue and has therefore attempted to create a model that is affordable by such laboratories. We also help create greater awareness of such programs in different countries and guide them on how to initiate one of their own. Rather than provide samples under the banner of our own program we work with local coordinators and give a national identity of that country hoping that ultimately the local organizers will take responsibility for all aspects of the program, if they wish to. The Haemostasis module has been particularly successful in this model of helping severaldeveloping countries in different parts of the world. This module has been utilized by these countries at different points in time to support their need for EQAS for haemostasis testing laboratories, sometime supported by international agencies.
Materials are packaged and shipped in compliance with IATA guidelines to one of the laboratories that is designated as the Coordinating center for the country. This laboratory then distributes the samples internally, and collates results that returned by participants and forwards them to CMCEQAS for evaluation. Customized individual reports are then generated for each participating laboratory and sent back to the coordinating centre for local distribution.

CMCEQAS seeks to provide cost effective high quality model for external quality assessment schemes that is aimed at empowering local agencies to create their own programs.
